Inspiration: As I was working on the third or fourth draft of my ghostwriting bio yesterday, it occurred to me that this type of writing shares similar characteristics to a short memoir. This thought was the inspiration for this week's piece.
Timing: I drafted the first version of my bio on Wed Jul 17 and proceeded to change it several times over the course of the week. The final version of this piece was published on 52 Memoirs on Wed Jul 24 2019.

Reflection: Writing this bio was a painful process. It was very challenging to capture the essence of my writing experience, work experience, career change, and love for writing in a clear and concise manner. I also feel uncomfortable writing about myself and my accomplishments. This was a very difficult process for me, but I am happy with where I landed. Thank you to my dear friend for providing honest and helpful suggestions. Feedback is truly a gift!

Writing has always been a place of solace for me. I attempted to author my first novel in elementary school, confessed secrets to my high school diary, wrote long messages to dear friends in university, and penned hopeful letters to my future self during my career change. The more I wrote, the more I wanted to write.
Prior to transitioning to freelance writing, I spent nearly two decades working in a corporate environment. I specialized in financial analysis; however, my role quickly expanded to include writing in various capacities. I created templates, designed training manuals, and wrote new client proposals. During this time, I also graduated with an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, developed content for courses in the financial services industry, and launched a personal blog about beauty and fashion.
As a ghostwriter, I feel my best when I can help clients convey their stories, knowledge, and expertise into elegantly worded and relatable content. When I’m not writing for clients, I’m usually working on my brands or personal projects – my current project explores the art of memoir writing.
